DUKA was established in 1989. The first office chair we made at Lokavec near Ajdovščina was the "Carousel". Today, it seems to represent everything the company has achived in tne subsequent yers. We have since manufactured a range of new products, each better and more beutiful than the previous. Our production facility at Lokavec soon become to small to meet our demands, and those of our customers, so we moved our headquarters to Vipava, where we also opened our first modern office furniture salos room.

The office, the contemporary shrine of the business world, is perceived in a different way by each one of us.
However, there are two contrasting perspectives of the office that I find particularly enticing.
I experiance the first when I sit at my desk. There is an instant of calm before the explosian of important events and decisions. Everything must be just right. Within reach of the hand, yet only just concealed from the eye. It must be confortable, functional and pleasant to the touch and to the eye.
The second perspective is sometimes more important than the first. I open the door of another office and try to create a picturo of the general and business culture of the people working in that office. What can I expect? What do the furnishings tell me about the person who selected them?
All of these, and a multitude of other questions are asked by the people who buy office furniture. At DUKA, we seek to answer their questions every day. We strive to understand so that we may offer exactly what the business world expects of us.
And we shall continue to do so in the future.
